Computech
Record Label:
Release Date: 1989/1990
Format: Cassette tape
Catalog Number: SRS 003.5
Press Details: Numbered -/50. Some say 100 copies were made.
Notes: Recorded at the first ever Trbngr rehearsal, Jan. 1989, these were cleverly titled
after the cheap Commodore computer cassettes that they were copied onto.
Half of these were included in the first 50 shrink-wrapped and autographed, custom
designed (first edition) copies of 'Route Zero'.
Someone once described the tape:
"Possibly one of the more difficult
TURBONEGO items - a limited edition of 50! Hand-numbered, but heck if
I can tell whether this is #18 or #48! I did loads of trading with
these neurotic NORWEGIANS in the last late 80s and early 90s. One
day this cassette arrived wrapped in a disposal bag for sanitary napkins -
classy huh? The tape itself - if you are NOT familiar with TRBNGR -
this IS NOT the place to start. Let's just call this release an item
for the HC fan/completist. The songs - there are TWO - sound like
boombox/practice recordings - RAW. A cover of THE STOOGES '1970' played
at breakneck speed plus another tune I am unfamiliar with. The remainder
of SIDE A has some romantic Spanish music - SIDE B is blank - maybe that's
a good thing. You have been warned! All is in excellant condition.
WILL BE TAKEN AWAY BY THE CHAMBERMAID."

Notes: This 7" is issued under the band name Trbngr.
A three song 7" by these fine Norwegians. Last time they visited
our fair city, one of the boys was mugged in front of the Fair Oaks
Motel. I'd like to make the motherfuckers listen to this blast of
yellow vinyl straight through. They'd turn on each other in minutes.
Turbonegro rock harder than most, and singer Harald Fossberg handles
English like he's been here all his life. Can't say for sure, but a
Halos influence is evident, something that wasn't on their EP last year.

Denim Demon
Record Label: Munster Records (Spain)
Release Date: 06/98
Format: Vinyl 7"
Catalog Number: 7069
Press Details: Repress. Number of copies?
Notes: I'm the wrong person to be reviewing this as Turbonegro are one of my faves and they can do no wrong in my book ( I even liked their last CD, which was
supposed to be their tribute to Blue Oyster Cult! )
The A-side is another smoking Turbo-classic which belongs up there with "(He's A) Grunge Whore" and "I'm In Love With The Destructive Girls". Grade A punk rawk!
On the flip: "(I Fucked) Betty Page" is a fuck-off to the garage rock community with way obnoxious lyrics, plus E. Chadbourne on electric guitar. Nice homos buttfucking color cover!

Bad Mongo
Record Label: Bovine Records (USA)
Release Date: 1995
Format: Vinyl 7"
Catalog Number: BO-25
Press Details: 1500 made?
Notes: These guys slay, they rock, they're punk as an old DEAD BOYS song, these guys will go unnoticed. Why? ...because a) they are not Americans, b) they don't sing
fucking POP PUNK weanie rock.
Eat these lyrics for lunch: "Ethnic hairstyles, slack neo-hipppies, retro punks, people with thick glasses gloryfying serial killers, hobbit motherfuckers, no guts, no glory, no riot - my generation
sucks! Cyber idiots with pierced scrotums copulating with animals in cars parked outside the rave party. Not enough war, Not enough famine, Not enough suffering, Not enough natural selection."
Now that's the lyrics I've been asking for all through the 90's. And they have been called politically incorrect. Right on Norwegian love dolls. Not to mention a cover of the LEWD's mobile home song.

Prince Of The Rodeo
Record Label: Hit Me! Records (Norway)
Release Date: 1996
Format: Vinyl 7"
Catalog Number: 73 96 hits
Press Details: 1st edition: 500 on black vinyl and live photo insert. 2nd edition: 500 on black wax.
Notes: Euroboy's recording debut for Turbonegro on this great single from late '96!
The A-side features a rougher take of the
rodeo-song with a special fanfares & horses intro. 'Toodlepip Fuck' on the flip is a straight forward punk 'boogie' tune
in the vein of late Stooges 'Cock In My Pocket' fueled by Pål's cool piano jingling.
Rumours claim that this single was originally supposed to be issued on Frank Kozik's Man's Ruin Records!
The back of the sleeve shows a photo of His Majesty Haakon Magnus, Prince of Norway, and his longtime friend and advisor Happy Tom,
King of Bass-guitar chatting it up at an Oslo hot spot!!!

Suffragette City
Record Label: Bad Afro Records (Denmark)
Release Date: October, 1997
Format: Vinyl 7"
Catalog Number: FRO-006
Press Details: 1000 black wax.
Notes: It's always interesting to see, how sick the new Turbonegro-releases are. Just think of classic singles like "Bad Mongo" or "I Got Erection". And I guess it comes as no surprise, that this is just as weird.
The A-side is a rocking version of David Bowie's "Suffragette City", which actually isn't anywhere near as fuct up as you'd think. But the flipside makes up for that, believe me... It's completely spoken word by singer Hank,
pretending to be mongoloid. If you've seen them live, you know what I mean. And it's hilarious! ( But only if you understand Danish ) Add this to your Turbo-collection.

Notes: Hank's majestic spoken word piece, 'Kærlighetens Børn' is a poetic attack on the whole nation of Denmark with the Duke impersonating a mongoloid Danish child and his exposé

Notes: Enhanced cd single released in September 2003! Comes with a previously unreleased outtake
from the Scandinavian Leather sessions and a further live song from their Res-erection show at the Quart Festival 2002.
Great "zillion dollar" artwork by Are Kleivan with individual dollar designs for each band member on the backside of

dollar bills into the crowd during the song "Sell Your Body"!
