Religion, self discovery, narcotic dealings and the revival of old school rock-n-roll are among the many mental cogs
that make up the complex inner workings of Hans Erik Dyvik Husby.
Still Living A Rock-N-Roll Life
TJUSA: Your 29?
HH: My body is 29.
TJUSA: Alright. Well, lets jump around here for a little
bit. So the release of the tribute record, have you heard it?
HH: Yeah.
TJUSA: What did you think, honestly?
HH: Well, I wrote a letter to the participants and it was
printed on the cover.
TJUSA: Well, see I only got the promo copy of it.
HH: You can see it on the internet, the letter I wrote,
and you can quote that freely if you want to.
TJUSA: Well, give me a brief thought.
HH: I'm satisfied that the artists did this. It was the
right thing for them to do.
TJUSA: I agree with you so far.
HH: I don't disagree with any of the versions.
TJUSA: I do.
HH: I know, but I don't. On their own terms, they did
the things they did. Of course I find some versions more interesting than
others.
TJUSA: Right.
HH: But, yeah, of course some of them are just copies,
really.
TJUSA: So you'd rather hear an altered version from the
artists point of view?
HH: I'm like, more interested in, you know, how Toby
Damnit did it, making his own songs off of it, you know? Putting it in a
different aspect. A lot of bands didn't do that, they just copied our songs.
TJUSA: Yeah, but then again, how were they to know that
that's what Bitzcore was wanting to do? The tracks that were submitted were
selected on their view. There were so many bands that contacted me with songs
after the record was released and they were all well deserving to be on there.
HH: Of course, but as far as I understand, they are
thinking about making a Volume II of that tribute.
TJUSA: That's what I hear...
HH: And maybe that would be a good thing to do because
lot of bands weren't aware of the tribute until it was released and they had
something on their mind and they still do and I think they should be given a
chance to participate on that.
TJUSA: Right, so you didn't make it to the release party
on your own reasons?
HH: I didn't go to it.
TJUSA: The reason why?
HH: I'm far up north, I'm working here now.
TJUSA: Everyone else made it - what is that?
HH: Excuse me, it's my cell phone.
TJUSA: You wanna answer it?
HH: Uh my girlfriends answering, she's 17.
TJUSA: Ahhh you wild man!
HH: Ha ha ha, Lisa.
TJUSA: So you're not married anymore I take it?
HH: What?
TJUSA: This is way back when huh?
HH: Yeah, well, I'm still living a rock and roll
life... Wait a second (mumbled talking). It's just my boss. We'll have to stop
interview now I guess.
TJUSA: Are you serious?
HH: Yeah, I'm serious. Do you want to do more of it?
TJUSA: Yeah, actually I have a few more questions.
HH: You did?
TJUSA: If that's alright with you. We can get together
later or something.
HH: Yeah, I have to be very quick, my boss is totally
angry. I'm not good at calculating hours, you know. If you can call me in like
24 hours, around one o clock tomorrow, my time. Around 3 or 4o'clock my time.
TJUSA: Okay
HH: Yeah great.
TJUSA: Alright, thanks Hank.
HH: Talk to ya, bye.
