STOCKHOLM -- Amir Chamdin, the helmer-thesp who found fame in Swedish hip-hop group Infinite Mass, is to direct "Citizen, Good Evening" a biopic about the late poet and singer Cornelis Vreeswijk.
Pic will be produced by by Martina Stohr and exec produced by Daniel Sachs for Chamdin's shingle, Chamdin & Stohr Film, in association with Warner Music Group, Sonet Film, Swedish pubcaster Sveriges Television (SvT)
and Sweden's film fund and production center Film i Vast.
The lead will be played by rock singer Hans-Erik Dyvik Husby, aka Hank from Hell, the frontman for rock band Turbonegro.
Vreeswijk was born in the Netherlands in 1937 and moved to Sweden with his family as a child.
During the 1960s, he became one of the country's most beloved singers/songwriters and also appeared in films and on stage.
By the time of his death from liver cancer at the age of fifty, Vreeswijk had become an icon of the Swedish music scene, and
he was honored with burial at the Katarina Church, a national cemetery in Stockholm.
Pic will start shooting in the spring and is due to open in November.
Volcom's Stone Your TV features great videos from Valiant Thor, The Riverboat Gamblers and Turbonegro to name but a few.
It was in a series called '"Volcom Roadshow: episode V' that Hank gives us a glimpse to what the Youtube video may be in response to.
Have a look and judge for yourself (Hank's rant is at the very end.)
An interesting video has been posted on Youtube by 'AnonymousNorway' titled 'Hank von Hell (Turbonegro) about involvement with Scientology'. I don't know
the story behind it but will try and find out. Until then take a look:
Transcription:
"Hello, Hank von Hell, member of Turbonegro and puppet of the Church of Scientology.
Your ramblings about the alledged deaths caused by psychiatry, and the drugs they perscribe are not fooling anyone.
You are being used by your manager and the so-called church he is a member of. And even though you and he consider
yourselves personally christians, you are being used as errand boys by a global cult, whose teachings dictate that
Christianity, Jesus, the crusification, and God are tools made up by the implants in body thetans, that cling to our
bodies. In short: Scientology teaches that religion is the product of psychiatry. This is what you will learn when
you reach O T 3, the Wall of Fire. Any scientologist will deny this, and when you learn it, you are told to deny it as well.
Hank, through your actions helping C.C.H.R, you are supporting a cult that destroyes families and lives. You should learn to
research what you chose to do before you act on it.
We leave you with the church founder Hubbard's own words..."
Finnish journalist and RAMONES webmaster Jari-Pekka Laitio Ramone's latest RAMONES book entitled "Ramones: Soundtrack Of Our Lives" is the result of nearly five years worth of work. It is full of poignant stories that reflect what Joey Ramone, Dee Dee Ramone, Johnny Ramone, as well as the rest of the RAMONES family have impacted their fans worldwide.
Best described as a tribute book, "Ramones: Soundtrack Of Our Lives" has interviews and text written by 90 contributors and has 224 pages, and 295 photos/drawings. This book brings together the RAMONES family as never before. There are interviews by every surviving RAMONES member: RAMONES drummers (Tommy Ramone, Marky Ramone, and Richie Ramone), bassist CJ Ramone, and Johnny Ramone's wife Linda Cummings. The introduction is written by Tommy Ramone.
Reluctant to offer fans stories which have been relayed thousands of times before, Jari-Pekka provides new information about the band. His focus is on the RAMONES' impact on the history of rock 'n' roll.
Other RAMONES publications have dwelt too much on the fights, problems and other negative aspects of the RAMONES musical legacy. Lacking are the positive stories that are integral to the RAMONES history. Jari-Pekka offers candid and positive opinions and stories from people who were influenced musically and inspired by the RAMONES.
Contributors to "Ramones: Soundtrack Of Our Lives" include Seymour Stein (founder of Sire Records), Hilly Kristal (founder of the CBGB club), Rodney Bingenheimer (radio DJ/KROQ-FM) and Maria Montoya-Kaye, Walter Lure (JOHNNY THUNDERS & THE HEARTBREAKERS, WALDOS), Wayne Kramer (MC5/DKT), Andy Shernoff (THE DICTATORS), Glen Kolotkin (producer), Noah "Noki" Citrin (an important friend to Joey Ramone in the '60s), and Bam Margera ("Jackass").
"Ramones: Soundtrack Of Our Lives" also features stories and recollections from all kinds of musicians, including punk legends and pioneers such as Dez Cadena (MISFITS, BLACK FLAG, DC3), Henry Rollins (BLACK FLAG, ROLLINS BAND), Charlie Harper (UK SUBS), Glen Matlock (SEX PISTOLS, THE PHILISTINES), and Vinny Stigma, and Roger Miret (AGNOSTIC FRONT).
Other punk and rock 'n' roll bands contributing are: Rob Wright (NOMEANSNO, THE HANSON BROTHERS), Andy Cairns (THERAPY?), Kenny Håkansson, Nick Royale, and Robban Eriksson (THE HELLACOPTERS), Bela B. (solo artist, DIE ÄRZTE), Bumblefoot (GUNS N' ROSES), Happy-Tom and Euroboy (TURBONEGRO), Johan Blomqvist (BACKYARD BABIES), and Tom Wisniewski (MXPX).
Also included are several heavy metalists recalling their reverence and love for the RAMONES. Among them are Frank Watkins (OBITUARY, GORGOROTH), Mikael Åkerfeldt (OPETH, BLOODBATH), Phil Campbell (MOTÖRHEAD), Jon Larsen (VOLBEAT), Miland "Mille" Petrozza (KREATOR), and Ricky Warwick (solo artist, THE ALMIGHTY).
Jari-Pekka has been dedicated to running the biggest and most updated RAMONES homepage since 1995 and has authored the books "Heaven Needed A Lead Singer: Fans Remember Joey Ramone" (2002), and "Rock In Peace: Dee Dee And Joey Ramone" (2004).
"I am happy to get the chance to show RAMONES fans lots of unreleased photos and drawings prepared exclusively for this book," Jari-Pekka Laitio Ramone states. This book has never-before-released photos and drawings by people like Jenny Lens, George DuBose, and Bobby London.
The gang from Turbojugend Argentina have got themselves a real rockin' Turbonegro tribute act, The Turbobardos.

MTV Games and Harmonix have gone public about the new tracks and new genres to be added soon to
the Rock Band Music Store. Heavy Metal band White Zombie and Punk band Turbonegro are all set to make
their Rock Band debut some time this week.
White Zombie bring their hit single "More Human Than Human" to Rock Band which featured on their 1995
album Astro Creep: 2000 and "Black Sunshine" which was taken from the 1992 album La Sexorcisto: Devil Music.
The band's lead singer Rob Zombie earlier had one of his solo songs on Rock Band entitled "War Zone".
Norwegian punk band Turbonegro release their track "Wasted Again" on Rock Band taken from their 2005 album Party Animals.
Release dates:
February 17, 2009 (Xbox Live Marketplace)
February 19, 2009 (PlayStation Store)
Each track will cost 1.99 USD (approx. Rs. 95) or 160 Microsoft Points for the Xbox 360.
Rock Band 2 a sequel to Rock Band, is available for the Xbox 360, PS2, PS3 and the Wii console from
Nintendo. The Rock Band 2 instruments are considerably quieter than those in Rock Band.
The final Coachella line-up was released yesterday confirming Turbonegro's appearance
in Indio, California on Saturday, April 18.
You might remember last years cancellation of the bands North American tour due to lead guitarist Knut 'Euroboy' Schriener's
sudden illness, which included the much anticipated Coachella date. Fast forward 12 months and according to the band all is well. Great news!
Other acts slated for the event which takes place April 17-19 include Paul McCartney, The Killers, Hank Rollins,
Mastodon, Calexico and Brian Jonestown Massacre.
With the new year comes a renewed effort and focus on bringing you what seems like an endless mountain of Turbonegro content. Over the years many things
have been put on the back burner for one reason or another and eventually was forgotten. However after fighting through most of the obsticles I'm happy to announce
that the obsession that made Turbojugend USA the juggernaut it was and will soon be again is back. Updates and additions will be made to nearly every section on this web site.
Way too many to list now, but I assure you that they won't disappoint. Especially pre-Scandinavian Leather fanatics.
June 26 - Borlange, Sweden @ Peace And Love Festival

July 17 - Tonsberg, Norway @ Slottsfjellfestivalen

::TURBONEGRO VS NELLY!
DJ Schmolli (don't ask.) has created a mash-up masterpiece with Nelly Furtado's 'Say It Right' and Turbonegro's operatic juggernaut 'Fuck The World'.
Hard to believe, I know. But this guy has done an awesome job. Dig it:
