Holland based FaceCulture recently did an indepth interview with front man Hanky Panky. Topics covered include: fans,
losers, addiction, Retox, 'Mr. Freedom' and tons more.
NRK (Norway's national broadcaster) just published 3 new videos on their website, from last week when
Turbonegro visited different radio-shows at the NRK studios. Everything is in Norwegian of course,
but a pretty cool feed nonetheless.
Click here for an article with links,
and descriptions in both english and norwegian.

these clips and more.

::LEVI'S SOUNDS!
"We actually really dig this gritty promotion called Levi's Sounds, a
collabo between Levi's and VICE, even if the object is pretty typical: To build brand awareness by
conducting an open call for fledgling bands, all of which are seeking the opportunity of a lifetime
(or at least the next six months). Participating countries include Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland and Finland.
So if you're a Scandinavian band with some beats and a dream, join the contest. Submissions are
all due by mid-August and the winner should be announced in November.
Winners can record a CD produced by Knut Schreiner of Turbonegro and
released under NIGHTLINER, a sublabel that belongs to Universal. Oh yeah, you also get to do a Levi's ad campaign.
We suffer from a love/hate relationship with Levi's because its ads are so consistently stunning
and their product remains consistently crappy."
Please note the URL change that will take place on June 11th:
www.turbonegro.com will serve as the
ultimate new Turbonegro homepage address. There is a link to the TJ
Mail Order, but its recommended that you bookmark the new direct

The official Turbojugend Magazine takes on a new moniker and goes global with
'Le Saboteur'!
With the two previous issues of Turbojugend Magazine having been inked in German, 'Le Saboteur',
steps from the local scene and onto the worldwide stage with the first issue written in english. Features include interviews with
capt. cool Happy Tom, Atlanta Roller Girls and a report from TJ Satanika. Plus a Turbojugend Comic strip and a grip more...
Turbonegro have announced via their Myspace/bulletin that a 'full North American Canadian tour'
is planned for September. There's also mention of some additional European dates set for August.
Correction: On Monday it was reported on this site that 'Atom Bomb' was a new single.
According to the band's management this is not the case. It is not a new single or even a single.
Probably best known for being the backdrop for U2's 'Under A Blood Red Sky' video or perhaps John Tesh's live gigs,
the Red Rocks Amphitheatre is natures gift to the outdoor music festival. And on Saturday, September 14th these natural
stone formations in the Rocky Mountain Foothills will play host to Monolith Festival '07
Located 15 miles outside downtown Denver, Colorado the 2007 Monolith Festival will feature over 50 bands on five stages. Included are The Brian
Jonestown Massacre, Bob Log III, The Flaming Lips and a gang load of other acts I've never heard of. However the best outfit has just been
confirmed and that's non other than Turbonegro.
Turbonegro seem to be continuing there run with songs about or in relation to American politics
with 'Do You Do You Dig Destruction' - (link has been removed by request.)
My answer is not yes, but FUCK YES!
thanks to SKAL!
::ATOM BOMB!
Turboneger's latest single to be released from their upcoming album 'RETOX' can be heard here:
'We're Gonna Drop The Atom Bomb'.
In a recent radio interview with Norway's NRK - PYRO, Euroboy reveals yet another cut from the soon to
be released 'Retox'. The track titled 'We're Gonna Drop The Atom Bomb' is, as
many would agree, a new and different sound from the band we all know and love. For better or for worse?
You decide (see link below). So...the interview is conducted in Norwegian but it basically breaks down like
this: Euroboy discusses the many bands that have influenced the new record and then follows it up with a
song by one of those bands. A great list to be sure.
Here's the deal:
Go to www.nrk.no - click NRK NETRADIO - in the pop-up window search 'PYRO' then choose 15.05 (21:03 - 22:00).
To see what others have to say about this latest track then get on over to Turbojugend-Forum.com and find out.

::HULTSFRED!
Turbonegro have been confirmed to play at this year's Hultsfred Festival in Hultsfred, Sweden
on June 16th.
Europe's latest, greatest music festival comes by way of Milan, Italy and arrives Sunday, September 2, 2007.
Headliners NOFX will be joined by New York's own Sick Of It All, The Locust, Turbonegro and many more.
'On July 10th (Valle Hovin Stadion) the band will perform in front of 35,000 people as they warm up for Metallica,
when the biggest hard rock band in the world plays in Oslo. It will not be the largest crowd Turbonegro has
beheld, but it will probably be the most dedicated -a pure rock congregation- and this makes it something truly
special for the Oslo band. And for Turbonegro it is a piece of unsurpassable pr regarding their new album, which
will be in stores just about a month prior to the Metallica gig. Before that, from May 4th, Turbonegro will
be out on a tour of Europe and Norway which will carry on almost to the end of June. And one week before the
Metallica show they will also play the opening day of the Quart festival in Kristiansand.'
4:00 P.M. - rendezvous at Big City Billiards in Allston for some rounds of pool, a few beers and (IMPORTANT) website planning with Mr. Pox Del Pollo
6:00 P.M. - migrate to TJ Boston clubhouse motherfucking pizza feast, more beer, loud music, tits and ass...
All this is just a proposed tentative schedule. Let me know if you guys have any more ideas or suggestions. Either way, this should be a blast. A meeting is long overdo...
About a week or so ago the Norwegian paper Dagbladet ran a story about the fanatics in Texas titled
'I Sold My Record Collection To Meet Turbonegro'.
A great article on the fans and the band they've traveled far and wide to see: Turbonegro. This being a norse
publication clearly half (more like 99.9%) of us can't understand one bit of it. Well now thanks to thee almighty
Sigurd 'Sir Sigarillo' Mjelve, President Turbojugend Molde we all can enjoy this terrific piece of journalism!
On March 8th the Turbonegro single 'Do You Do You Dig Destruction?' was released in Norway by way of mobile phone.
The song is available from djuice and Telenor in partnership with Universal Music, and can be downloaded for free until the
end of April. As with all songs you buy from Telenor's music store, you can also download "Do You Do You Dig Destruction?" to
your PC, make a CD copy, transfer it to other MP3 players, etc.
The easiest way to obtain Turbonegro's "Do You Do You Dig Destruction?" is by sending a text message with the codeword
"rock" to 2244. The offer is valid for djuice and Telenor customers
in Norway only.
For the thousands outside of Norway unable to grab this gem never fret because you can 'dig' on this clip until its worldwide release hopefully sometime in April:
"A Turbonegro...
What's a Turbonegro..?
Hmmm...
A Turbonegro...
You find him walking in the outskirts of Oslo.
He's escaped from the fashionable bourgeois side of town.
The west end of town.
He ran away from there.
Comes from rich parents.
The bourgeois background.
But he runs out to the suburbs.
He becomes a leader of the little Turbonegros that lives in the suburbs of Oslo.
That hangs around the center.
They get drug. They sniff glue.
They hang around the center and steal money from all the people.
They are little droogies...
For that fashionable, dandy from the west end that becomes their leader.
That is Turbonegroism."
Along with heavy hitters Megadeth and not-so heavy hitters(?) Buckcherry, Turbonegro are among the five new acts
added to the Download Festival '07 line up. Happy Tom, true to form, says: "We seem to be every metal bands favorite
band, so it's fun to play and party at Download, even though we oppose downloading per se'."
Donington Park sets the stage for the June extravaganza.
Craig Hlavaty over at Houstonpress.com questions the motives of some of the names of the bands at this years SXSW.
A quick read that includes (shocker!) our norse heroes, the Turbonegro. I'm surprised that its taken this long
for a 'publication' to ponder the boys' name, albeit in a lighthearted way. Perhaps this says something about the
current state of equal rights here in America? Possible, but not likely.

Norwegian band have chosen to initially release a single exclusively for mobile phones.
The song "Do You Do You Dig Destruction?" is taken from Turbonegro's coming album.
"Protect the environment, buy your music digitally," urges the Turbo crew.

"2006 was the year music on mobile phones really took off in Norway. Telenor customers downloaded more than 1 million songs,
and almost as many music mobiles were sold in Norway. We see that this success is continuing in 2007," says Jon Erik Haug,
Director for Consumer Mobile at Telenor.
djuice and Telenor have 750,000 songs in their music store, for the second largest amount of legal music downloads in Norway.

Those denim delinquents of Turbojugend Los Angeles are hosting an event this Saturday, Feb. 17 at The Roxy on Sunset Blvd.
The show will feature L.A. Slumlords, Arnocorps and 'Palmdale's #3 rock band' Van Stone. If you haven't seen VS
then this gig is mandatory!
Saturday the 24th of February sees all of TJ Brisbane's handsome sailors taking to the water
for an afternoon of boozing and cruising with the city's finest Deathpunk bands:
The Hymies, R.A.D., the Money and the New Wave Hookers.
It was nearly four years ago to the day that Richard Lancaster (AKA Richie Crimewave), Vice President of
Turbojugend London and salesman at Shellshock passed away. Crimewave was as cool as they come. At the time of his passing
Thomas had this to say:
That's really, really sad. Richie was a super nice guy and a lifetime
lover of great music. It seemed to me that he was one of those people who
really had a grasp on what our band is all about. I have fond memories of
drinking with him in Nottingham when we played there recently, and it was
very depressing to hear about this.
Crimewave Forever!
Happy-Tom
Oddly enough while going through old e-mail recently I came across a few from Richard which only reminded me of what truly a great loss his death was.
The following is one of those e-mails:
From: Richard

Subject: Ride with us...
Hello suburbandeathprince,
Please use my email address on your rather fine website as a contact for now
thanks. Like I say London should have a website finished before Christmas.
Although only a select band of five the London Jugend are being rather selective
in it's recruitment policy due to the amount of Wildhearts fans wishing to join our number.
This is not so much a reflection of that band but the snot-nosed, dirty faced,
witless oiks who buy their records. Some in the camp believe we are being to severe,
but you know. Anyway, the next three inductees have been selected and soon we will number eight.
The current membership is:
Caesar Antonious (President)
Richie Crimewave (1st Vice President)
Demonique Veronique
Mr. Summers
Wass Cobra
Four of the London Jugend made the Boat trip in August while the other was caught
in a forest fire in Spain. As we were stood waiting for the boat to arrive we had
to wait with some rather swank rich folks who could not help but stare at the motley
crew assembled before them. Bored of waiting (the bands boat showed up half an hour
late) we posed for the non-believers and the boys (at the behest of the girls)
donned their make-up for the evening to a soundtrack of the Misfits and of course Turbonegro.
When the band eventually showed up the guys saluted us as they pulled up into dock,
Hank wearing his famous pirates hat and proudly brandishing his toy cutlass.
Soon we where off, down past the Houses Of Parliament and as far down as the
residential area of Chelsea as is safe to go where something happened unbeknownst
to us, but more of that later.
When Turbonegro took the stage everybody onboard rushed to one side of the boat
and we nearly got kicked off Sex Pistols style as the captain said we where making
the boat lean too much to one side. I have to admit we were leaning in quite a
precarious position. Some joker made the point that it was thirteenth to the day
of the worst Thames river boat disaster which claimed some 89 lives.
At this point the bands very skilful tour manager convinced the captain not to throw
us off and the band where allowed to finish the remainder of the set docked in the harbour.
Turbo Negro finished by 10.30 so we were stuck on the boat for another three and
half hours, with nothing to do but drink and hang out.
As the alcohol did flow so 'Demonique Veronique' revealed her true Gaulish nature
when she cornered a rather bemused Hank and berated her compatriots for being crap
and not having one Jugend in the whole of France. This conversation/diatribe was
punctuated with Veronique punching the hull of the ship. I have never seen a woman
drink as much beer, and as fast as she.
'Wass Cobra' only managed to fall into the drum kit twice, luckily Chris had finished
playing them by this point.
I was sexually assaulted by a rather large black lady (she made me grab her tits)
so a good night was had by all.
The next day we found out that Cher who now lives in the most exclusive part of
Chelsea overlooking the Thames made a noise complaint to the Thames water authority
about a particular boat playing loud rock music. Could she have meant us?
I have some amazing photos of the show which will be posted on the website.
Well, the latest masterworks from Norway's favorite sons is going by the working title: 'Orgasm In Progress'.
A very befitting label seeing as this seems to be the state at which most of reside waiting in anticipation of Turbonegro's newest record.
And as of early January the first part of the reels were being mixed somewhere in the western United States. Austin, TX?
Look for a release date, hopefully, sometime in April ot 7.
Here's the latest from the Turbonegro blog by way of MySpace.com:
'Well, most of you know by now, Turbonegro are invading Texas in March to play their first gigs
of 2007 at SXSW in Austin. This will be your
first chance to hear the new tracks in full outside of Norway.
I can now confirm that Turbonegro will be headlining the legendary Austin punk rock venue Emo's on
the Saturday night!!! I'll confirm the supports next week and also send out details of any parties the
guys will be playing at as and when I get them.
This is gonna be the loudest, filthiest show at SXSW - I'm not sure if they know what they've let
themselves in for, but hey, that's cool!
It looks like festival wristbands for people living outside of Austin are going to be pretty hard
to get hold of now, as there was only a limited number and they sold out earlier this month. You can
still go to the event as a delegate, or if you're local, keep an eye on www.austinchronicle.com for
info on wristband sales in Feb. If you can't make it, don't worry, there will be loads of chances to
see the guys live later this year...'
Well, after a couple of months off from playing Black Chrome will be hitting the stage again on
Saturday the 3rd of February at the Valve in Wellington.
It should be a pretty epic show, so check out the flyer (below) and if you're in the Capital
that weekend head along and say gidday!
The Stooges, Interpol, Bloc Party, Lily Allen, Matt & Kim, the Watson Twins, Cold War Kids, Devin the Dude,
Hoodoo Gurus, Ghostland Observatory, Stax 50th Anniversary Soul Review, Ozomatli, and Turbonegro are set to
play the music portion of the mega-event, which runs from March 14-18 (the full extravaganza, including film
and interactive festivals, runs from March 9-18). I think I heard some shit about Pete Townshend showin' up as well...
Norwegian web site ballade.no reports that the new fast-black album is set to hit shelves on April 23.
What's the title of the new record going to be? Good question...
For the expected release date of this and other nordic sounds:
My Swedish is a little rusty so I will let the following info, which I received in an e-mail,
speak for itself: 'Go to this site and vote so we all can enjoy the Turbo Love sounds send the
Turbonegro to Kiruna Sweden summer 2007.'
'In a new Norwegian movie (Mirakel) that had its premiere on December 26 Turbonegro is played several times.
The main character Karsten has a nephew who is a huge Turbonegro fan. He has a crucial disease and dies,
and his brother who is a rock enthusiast plays Turbonegro at his brothers funeral (inside the church).'
The boys over at Fat City Magazine inform me that they're down to their last few copies of issue #10.
This issue features great interviews with Euroboy, Brandon Cruz of Dr. Know/Dead Kennedys, The Dollyrots,
The Eyeliners, Dropkick Murphys, Lars Frederiksen & The Bastards, an explanation of the dice game C-Lo by
Tim Burton of the Bosstones and more...
The first 1,000 copies come with a FREECKY/The Bronx split 7" with new tunes!
Today we don't have only good news. But for sure the good ones first:
- Turbojugend Magazine:
For all German speaking people is the first issue of the official Turbojugend magazine available now! It contains
interviews with bands (e.g. Psychopunch (Sweden), etc.), TJ members, album reviews, live reviews and Dudi's monthly column.
We think this is an idea which should be supported by everyone!
Boozed and The Flaming Sideburns connive and release a split 7"! After both bands played this year's WTJT
they thought about doing a record together. And now we can hold the result in our hand! A really nice 7" with two songs from both bands.
One song of each band is unreleased and never heard before on record. This item is strictly limited to only 500 hand numbered copies and
will be sold out very soon. So if you want one, you have to be quick.
We are really sorry that we have to announce that the German VAT will increase starting on January, 1st 2007. So we have to adjust our prices
to that. Use the chance and order before new year's eve. Every order which is done before that date, will have the old prices.
Nick Oliveri (QOTSA, Mondo Generator) joins up with Turbonegro for their next studio album: 'Born To Run To A Certain Extent' - maybe...
"Nick took time off from touring with Mondo Generator to drop by the studio and lay down
some AWETHOME tracks with us last Sunday, one of them titled "Night Calls"; a song he was
originally commissioned to write as a theme song for Playboy Channel's tv show by the same name.
Hugh Hefner's eunuchs (i.e. the executives at the channel) hated the song, but we sure as HECK
don't! We plainly REFUSE to be castrated by someone who themselves have been castrated. Nick
has also written a song about us, a homage to Turbonegro, called "Turbonegro"!"
It would seem the Turbonegro is spreading deeper into American media that previously thought.
On the November 6th episode of CSI: Miami, titled "High Octane", "All My Friends Are Dead"
could be heard at the beginning of the episode! For those unfamiliar with this program it's a rather
big deal here in the states getting huge ratings. In addition morning radio funny man Adam Corolla ('The Man Show')
incorporates a few turbo songs into the sound clips used between the show and commercial breaks.
The Adam Corolla Show is by far the funniest thing to ever hit the airwaves.
And this is why: www.freefm.com!

The new Norwegian survival horror flick 'Fritt Vilt' (translates to 'Fair Game') opens today and includes on its soundtrack Turbonegro, Big Bang, Bloodlights
(Capt. Poon's new outfit) and more...!
"It's midwinter. Five youngsters are heading for the Jotunheimen mountain area to go snowboarding. On the slope, one of them has a bad fall and breaks a leg.
There is no sign of any other people around, and their mobile phones are out of range. They catch sight of a mountain hotel in the distance, and decide to find
shelter there. The hotel lies empty and silent, obviously closed down years ago. The phone lines are dead, and the youngsters realize they have to spend the night
in the hotel. But it turns out they're not alone. In the basement they discover a filthy dungeon of a room, where somebody has recently lived. They find a pile of
polaroid photos, which by closer inspection prove to be very different from regular vacation photos... What follows is a battle of life and death, when Norway's
most notorious and determined serial killer plays cat and mouse with the youths. And while their number is diminishing, friendship and courage is put to the test
in this roller coaster ride of horror." - Todd
The latest from HT on the long awaited follow up to 'Party Animals' as stated in his, h-hm.., Myspace blog:
"Back in the studio now, to keep recording basic tracks for another two weeks. It is going great and sounds fantastic just
listening to the drums on their own. So far we have been recording at Fagerborg Studio, a place with lots of Norwegian pop
history in the walls. After this two week spell we will probably continue at Crystal Canyon, then it's off to a country full
of fat people to mix. Knut is producing and him, Chris and I ("The Power Trio") are perfecting most of the songs as we speak.
This is BIG stuff, very catchy and in your face (ass), very Deathpunk. Some titles: "Boys From Nowhere" and "Bleed For Me (All Night Long)".
The working title for the record was for a while "Born To Motherfucking Run", but we dropped it after we received an anonymous phone call
from our lawyer. We have decided on a new title, which will be revealed at a later point. Studio duty kept us from going to the Turbojugend
Welt Tage, which we heard was a blast (despite the St Pauli loss against the Bavarians), thanks to all involved for making and keeping
Turbojugend magic."

The Turbonegro Discography is the brain child hatched a couple of years
ago by Martin Lucassen (the turbo-archive) and Mike Heffington (turbojugendusa.com). The two pulled together
resources with the goal of compiling the most complete and up to date Turbonegro catalog - anywhere! As one
could imagine this is has been no simple task. Basing the limited press counts of alt. and ltd. editions,
colored vinyl supplies, dates and times for varying releases on fact and not suggestion, has proven to be
time consuming and a patience builder. Given the many re releases and seemingly endless editions put forth
by SFTRI and new releases expected in the near future, this labor of love will continue to be a work in progress...

Due to the increasing demand from the worldwide Jugend for a concrete date and due to the fact that travel and accommodation plans need to be arranged we decided to go public with Saturday, the 9th of September, as the main day of the event and Friday, the 8th as the night for the Turbojugend Warm-Up!
We are currently in negotiations with several bands and hope to present the complete line-up very soon.
So here are the details thus far:

- It is possible that the mighty FC St. Pauli will be playing a home match during that particular weekend. If that works out time-wise we are going to arrange something like a (Jugend) block in a section of the Millerntor ground.
- To all those that have ordered jackets: Due to the fact that our embroider is taking over the business from his boss all products with embroidery will take a little longer. We try to keep this delay as short as possible and we're sorry about that.
After executing a successful 5-date mini-tour last year Bam Margera's Viva La Bands Tour
2006 is being planned. As of now, Clutch and CKY are confirmed and Turbonegro is rumored to
be in negotiations as well for the planned 20 date outing. There will be a number of after-parties
featuring other bands and rotating some emerging artists at different shows. More...

Let's hope this happens as the tour is set to kick off in Phoenix, AZ. USA on October 4th, 2006.
::MTV...?
As mention here on May 17th Turbonegro are in the process of recording their new album. During a recent interview with the glorious
MTV Hank and Thomas revealed that 12 tracks have been layed down and the studio time continues. Christmas could be an exciting one this year...
::TURBONEGRO.COM!
Turbonegro.com has a gang load of merchandise on sale at their craziest prices yet! Everything from belts to DJ bags -
they've got it all. Don't miss out!!!
Our dear brother and president of Turbojugend Sandefjord (Norway), 'Fat Boy Rodeo',
reviews the recent Union Scene gig at Drammen, Norway:
"...I saw Turbo's show at Union in Drammen yesterday, and it was fucking
excellent!
The opening act sucked ass, but Turbo really delivered the goods.
One hour of deathpunk in front of 600 kids, and we all wanted more, of
course.
The newspaper in Drammen reviewed the show today, and gave it top score, as it deserved.
The set was a healthy (!!) mixture of stuff from their last four albums, but
nothing new. Since they are doing studio work these days, I was kinda hoping
to hear a new song or two. But I guess we'll hear it in good time.
Meanwhile, I'm just looking forward to the next show I'm lucky enough to
catch!"
Turbonegro are to play Union Rock this Saturday, May 27th at Drammen, Norway.
It's been reported that some 'kids' going by the name 'Apocalypse Dudes' will be opening the show so get there early!!!
Happy Tom delivers the news we've all been waiting for: "We've done a bunch
of demos, in all modesty: it out rocks any music I've ever heard, this record is gonna be insanely good."
Anticipation has never been so omnipresent.
The Norwegian heartthrobs known as Turbonegro entered the studio on May 8th, 2006
to begin recording a new album. Details to follow.
The latest, from Norway's newspaper giant Dagbladet, is that the music manager of NRK's
music radio station, Håkon Moslet, has been commissioned to write the official Turbonegro biography, with the
working title "Sagaen Om Denimfolket" (lit.: The Saga Of The Denim People). Moslet is
previously known to have given "Apocalypse Dudes" a 6 out of 6 review during his time as a music critic, and in 2005
"High On The Crime" was the most played hit at the P3 station.
According to the schedule, the book is due to be published by Gyldendal Publishing in autumn 2007.
thanks to Sir Sigarillo | Turbojugend Molde, Norway
* There is also a German gal currently working on a publication related to Turbonegro. Thankfully, though, she's
taking a different approach to it than that of a 'biography'. Uta Heuser says of it, "The focus of the book
now is on the special and interacting relationship, the synergy between Turbonegro and their fans in Turbojugend. So
there will be a part with the band history (mainly in the band's own words from the old interviews + some backgrounds),
and a part with the development, life and adventures of Turbojugend."
It would appear that a crazed turbo fan traversed the pond to take care of some unfinished business, however this is not the case.
Our good friend and distant brother Sigurd 'Sir Sigarillo' Mjelve (Turbojugend Molde, Norway) explains it like this:
'...Saturday at Stord: on the height of the concert a fan threw a glass of beer on the stage and hit Euroboy in the face. The band
left the stage in protest, and contemplated weather or not to return on stage. They returned promptly how ever, but was this time hailed
with four or five more glasses of beer thrown on them, and left the stage for good, not doing any encores or signing any autographs.
They say that this is the price they pay for having the best fans in the world: some of them can get a bit too enthusiastic. Despite
Hank's promise to the audience that he would give one thousand kroner to those who fingered the guilty beer thrower, he was never found
amongst the some 300 participants.'
The worlds most prolific cover artist 'Grum Lee' has completed the Turbonegro hit 'Don't Say Motherfucker, Motherfucker'.
And according to his website this Frenchman '...records some acoustic cover songs, singing as bad as possible
to make it funny...'. And get this: '...more than 251 cover songs recorded since november 2002'.
A couple of songs...?
